Reading CC Spring Road Race - April 27th 2008 - Start List and Program Attached

Sunday April 27th sees another running of our popular Spring Road Race for 3rd and 4th cat riders on the Woodcote/Goring circuit. Like last year, this is run simultaneously as a joint promotion with the AW Cycles E/1/2 Spring Road Race. The entry lists are now attached below.

The event HQ is once again at Woodcote Village Hall, Reading Road, Woodcote, Oxfordshire. Spectators are welcome at the HQ where there will be excellent refreshments, or by the roadside around the circuit. We will need a number of Marshalls, so please contact Colin Bates if you are able to help out with this major club promotion.

Reliability Trial 2008

Sunday March 2nd was the date for the much anticipated annual Reliability Trial - moved to one week later than usual to avoid a clash with the Goring 10K run. This year featured a new, tougher course, with the start and finish moved to avoid urban areas, a loop out into Oxfordshire, and a longer distance to cover: 87km with 860 metres of climbing.

Conditions on the day were pretty good, with a strong westerly wind which taxed riders' strength in the Oxfordshire loop. The most reliable rider was officially A. Mica, who was spot on his target time. The leading few of the "Fast" ride managed to just beat the fastest group of the "Fastest" ride, which made a good day out for them.
