2017 RCC Anthony Maynard Reliability Trial - Sunday February 26th

The last Sunday in February 26th, is the 2017 annual Anthony Maynard Spring Reliability Trial. It’s the usual President route, but a modified longer route to accommodate a detour avoiding the Goring 10km Run.

The aim is to complete your chosen trail in the target time. Please note this event is not a race, you should ride with normal consideration for your fellow riders and other road users. It's also wise to come equipped to repair your own mechanical problems, as it's less likely that others will wait for you, when compared with a normal club run! All the fun of a sportive for a fraction of the outlay - we’d just like £2 to support our charities and you will also get a free coffee at the finish.

Departures are from the roundabout in Thames Valley Park, sign on from 08:30, first group away at 09:00.

Anthony Maynard Reliability Trial 28th February 2016 Report

Here are the 2016 results. A cold but fast day indeed; apart from the President's Trial, every rider who finished was under standard. An excellent turnout; 59 started and 5 DNFs. Well done all riders. It was also good to see the Maynard family again.
Thanks to the DNFs for ensuring I knew where you were. Martin Cairns (GSH) took a tumble on the bad surface on speed bumps by Benson airfield - hopefully recovered and in good shape now. Special congratulations to our youngest rider Jamie Gostick who completed the President's Trial in a lead group - with his dad!

Clubrun reports, June 28 2015

Most of us were caught out by the weather on Sunday not quite matching the forecast. Luca, being in the weather industry had the sense to check on the morning and so turned up on his winter bike. Dave Ridge also came suitably equipped. The rest of us, not so much.

Spring Clubruns proving very popular

30+ people at the Town Hall on Sunday, with a choice of fast, brisk and a couple of steady rides on offer. Thanks Dave Ridge, Fred Hale and Luca Romita for leading the brisk & steady rides. I had to turn back from Luca's ride at Kingsclere for a nice slog home into the wind. A bit chilly on the feet, but nice to be out. Hopefully it'll be a bit warmer next week...

Torture 40 - Sunday April 5 2015

RCC are presenting their annual Torture 40 challenge on Sunday 5th April 2015 at 0900 am. It’s been described as a mini Marmotte due to the hills, and Paris / Roubaix due to the time of year, and the possible conditions!!! This is open to both RCC members and non-members.

As last year we will be using Strava to carry out timings, but this is not a race. However, there is a ‘King of the Mountains’ (KOM) prize for 1st claim RCC members based on the lowest aggregate time on four of the major climbs.
