Only two Reading riders started. Dani Fortunov and Steve Bale coincidently both punctured on the way to the event but Dani unfortunately wasn't able to get to the event in time. My winning time in 2003 of 3.51 was soundly beaten by 5 riders (the hill must be less steep than it used to be). A surprise defeat for Rob English.
