Welcome!
Reading Cycling Club has been promoting cycling in the Berkshire
area since 1974. With almost 200 members, the club is dedicated
to giving riders the opportunity to race, ride and enjoy life
on two wheels. With a series of evening time trials throughout
the racing season and social rides every week, Reading CC offers

Tribute Lunch
John Barnes, our Chairman of 38 years, has recently retired
from the committee. The club will be holding a celebration buffet
lunch for John at Benson Riverside Bistro on December 1st at
1.30pm, which will double up as the prize-giving event for this
year. Weather permitting, there will be a ride out to the lunch.
TIckets are £15.50, from Sarah Lidington. |
Club Hillclimb Championships
Paul Taylor was the fastest club rider for the combined ascents
of Britwell Hill and Dolesden Lane, in front of massed ranks
of RCC spectators. Roy Booth caught the flavour of the event
with his camera. Click here

Tour of Britain 2007
A recent highlight of cycling in Reading was the
start of Stage 1 of the Tour of Britain. Reading CC were at
the heart of the action, organising a race for folding bicycles
after the Professionals had left the stadium.
Our General Secretary Roy Booth was interviewed during the
morning by Maggie Philbin on BBC Radio Berks. On which subject,
on the right we have Dean Bond, Roy himself and Colin Bates
manning the RCC stall on the race morning. |

David Pollard of In-Gear Quickvit was a clear winner in the
club's open 10-mile promotion at Aldermaston on Sunday. Pollard's

his closest rival, Tim Bedingfield of AW Cycles.
Reading CC's Trudi Sammons won the women's event in a time
of 24:12, with the top three Reading men, Paul Taylor, Nick
