Reading CC Maidenhead Thicket 10-mile TT, 30/5/17

19s are a thing now on the Maidenhead Thicket course. Chris Bartley scorched past the finish less than 20 minutes after leaving

H10/2 Maidenhead Thicket 10-mile Time Trial result

A lovely evening tempted 24 people to sign on. Haydn, riding in a new RCC skinsuit, was well clear of the rest but there were good rides throughout the field with quite a few riding their road bikes.

Sportive Report April/May 2017

Here is a collection of the individual reports made by our members in the past two month. If I have missed your ride please email or fb message me with your update.

Duncan Patterson and Kevin Buckley 1st April Tour of Flanders
Duncan reports:
Yesterday saw me and my rather experienced RCC jersey take on the Koppenberg and more in the Flanders sportive. Managed to ride the whole thing except the top 50m of the Patterberg when a mass slow tumble sideways in front of me blocked my way. 20% cobbles in SPD-R are interesting.

Reading CC time trial Tuesday 16 May, H10/1 Aldermaston

A warm but dull evening attracted a decent field of 17 riders. Rain held off and JC put together power and slipperiness to finish well clear of the field. Nice to see Ray & Wendy getting a tandem ride. Congrats to 15 year-old Arthur Boulton of PPV for getting inside 24 minutes.

Big thanks go to Luca and Greg for running the start and Brian and Graham for timing us at the finish. My thanks also to all the riders who were well behaved in what can be a trafficky start area.

Reading CC Time-Trial Tuesday 9 May 2017: HCC259 Nettlebed-Pishill 18.23 miles

Tuesday 9th saw a healthy crowd gather in Rotherfield Peppard for the first TT of the year away from Twyford. 19 signed on in broken sunshine with a cool northerly breeze making the first leg even more draggy than normal. Somewhat unsurpisingly given his rich vein of form, Hadyn Rhys James blew the field away with a blistering time, which was no doubt aided by his brand new RCC skinsuit. As the sun disappeared temperatures dropped rapidly and one or two people were sporting extremities which matched the colour of the new kit. My thanks to Ray Bennett for his work with signage and spotting at the turns, and to Chris Goslar and Brian Perry for time keeping duties.

Tuesday TT 2 May 2017: Twyford HCC132 10 miles, result

It was nice to see an improved turn-out by comparison with last week. The weather was cool but it didn't rain so the conditions were ok for racing. Some warmth would be welcome now though.
