Athletes 10 mile TT Championship, H10/2 29/6/2010
Tuesday night on the A4 near Maidenhead Thicket saw the "Athletes" club
championship. This event is open to riders on standard road bikes. The
idea been that the playing field is even so there is no advantage from
expensive wheels, helmets or TT bikes.
It was a warm evening and the wind dropped during the ride.
Fastest on the night was Ken Buckley with 24:10, just three seconds behind was road racer Joe Harris, 24:13, and third was Simon Notley with 24:45.
Barry Quick has made it a clean sweep of the veteran awards with a plus of 208 seconds over his age standard.
Next week is the second part of the inter-club with NHRC. This takes part on the fast HCC 175. Map of the course can be found on HCC 175!doctype>. This includes details of where to meet in the lay-by. I will be limiting the number of riders to 40. Riders not from NHRC and RCC will be asked to sign on last. The first rider is off at 7:30pm. Please be there to sign on by 7:15pm. I will be staying in the lay-by to allow people to sign on until about 7:30pm. HCC175 is very fast and offers a good opportunity for a PB having a very fast ski jump start.
