Middle of season review
We have had the 10 mile championship and next week will be the 25 mile
championship. Here I will review the season so far and look forward to
the rest of the time trialing year at RCC.
So far we have held 12 club TTs and only had to abandon one. This was because of roadworks on the B4439. We have had 56 club riders and 37 riders from other clubs. That is a total of 93 different riders. We are a welcoming club and riders from all clubs can ride any of our events, for a small fee.
We have a new 10 mile champion in Paul Elcock. He rode 21:03 an impressive time. Next week sees the 25 mile championship , then the next two weeks sees the 10 and 25 mile 'Old School' awards. The 'old school' awards are to be ridden on standard road bikes. No aero equipment will be allowed. Lets hope that some of the road races come along to see if they can match the testers!
The 10 mile handicap is a close competition headed by Brian Bingham with 84 points, followed by Nick English (82), Steve Bale (81) and Steve Fleming (80). The top 20 riders are listed below. The handicap favours the consistent rider and there is a benefit from riding more events.
We also run a hilly series (Dave Finch). In this competition points are awarded from 20 downwards for your position in an event. Only your best five results count.
Details of all events and results are on the RCC web site.
