Last night saw the first running of the year on the hilly Bucklebury
course. This is a 15 mile loop starting near Bradfield Collage. The
night was cool with little wind.
Fastest on the night was Nick English with 37:51, with Stephen Bale 59 seconds behind with 38:50. This confirmed that a number of RCC riders are in very good form. Breaking 40 minutes on this course is a good time. Doing it in April is not done often.
Next week sees the first running of the year on the Heckfield circuit. The road works have now been completed and the new road surface has been improved.
RCC is doing an inter-club event on Thursday 11th June with NHRC. This is the only time we are riding this course before that event. The inter-club is judged over the best five riders from each club, four men and one lady.
Last year we tied one event each with NHRC.
